Hard Landscaping Training Group

Mitch has been invited to sit on the committee of the Hard Landscape training Group. The HLTG provides specific training for operatives who wish to both learn and hone specific skills where the installation of hard landscape materials are involved. Mitch, a qualified lecturer and assessor, will be active in both giving advice on course content along with delivering certain courses himself. The range of courses available from GROUP TRAINING is tremendous. If a member or client has a training need, the GROUP ORGANISER will endeavour to find the best tutor/instructor to deliver the course. Many of them will be recognised by CITB, others by Lantra, both sector skills councils, one for the Construction industry the other for the Land Based industry. Where there is a need we also encourage members to participate in either CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY OR AMENITY HORTICULTURE S/NVO'S, and also the MODERN APPRENTICESHIP scheme which is to be set up for this sector. Where appropriate, employers are encouraged to participate in the CONSTRUCTION SKILLS CERTIFICATION. There are many advanatges to being a member if the Group: * helping you to comply with legislation * learning basic skills and achieving proficiency updates in technical matters concerning your business * regular newsletter keeping you informed of forthcoming courses and other matters which affect your business * the advantage of quality training at reduced costs * courses can be tailored to meet individual needs * free access to a professional organization who can provide advice and assistance. what is the HARD LANDSCAPE TRAINING GROUP We are an employer led group of businesses committed to training our staff at all levels from basic skills to management. Formed in 2005, the members are nationally based Landscape Contractors and Manufacturers primarily whose businesses carry out hard landscape works who recognised the need for updating both their own and their employee skill levels to cope with a changing industry. Being a member of the group means that there is wider interest from like-minded people to fill up courses and make training happen more frequently at a realistic cost. The group also works closely with other local training providers and can act as co-ordinator to access training locally for businesses and individuals. In addition, other land-based employers and organisations are able to take advantage of an industry based training organisation, as and when they need to, without a commitment to membership. They are happy to pay higher rates to satisfy their training needs as they occur. These employers are of benefit to the Group members because they enable courses to run with maximum numbers.
